Al Duhail First Football Team finished their participation in the Qatar Cup as the runners-up after losing to Al Sadd in the final match with a score of 4-3 on penalties. The match was held at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Al Sadd Club and ended in a 2-2 draw in both original and extra time.
Al Duhail started the match with the following starting lineup:

The 13th minute witnessed the first chance from Al Duhail after Bourigeaud exploited a pass from Luis Alberto and shot with his right foot, only for Al Sadd defense to block it before reaching their goal. This was followed by a header from Al Moez Ali in the 14th minute, which Al Sadd goalkeeper brilliantly saved, preventing Al Duhail first goal opportunity.
In the 17th minute, from a pass by Luis Alberto, Edmilson Junior broke through facing the goal and shot a ball that hit Al Sadd defenders and went wide. Then, the 34th minute saw another chance from Al Moez Ali that went wide of Al Sadd goal.
The 49th minute witnessed Al Duhail first goal by Michael Olunga with a wonderful header, capitalizing on a mistake by Al-Sadd goalkeeper to announce Al-Duhail lead.
The 63rd minute saw Al Sadd equalizer by the player Claudinho, before Al Duhail quickly regained the lead through Benjamin Bourigeaud in the 66th minute after he converted Bassam Al Rawi’s cross into Al Sadd net.
Four minutes before the end, Al Sadd managed to equalize through Mojaica, ending the 90 minutes with a 2-2 draw, forcing the two teams into extra time.
The extra time witnessed Al Duhail superiority in terms of effectiveness in front of Al Sadd goal. Al Duhail started quickly with a dangerous chance in the 94th minute by Bamba, whose header went just past Al Sadd right post. Then, Al Moez Ali cross was cleared away from his goal by Al Sadd goalkeeper. In the 118th minute, Humam Al Amin cross was cleared by Akram Afif, and the final minutes passed without a change in the score, leading both teams to a penalty shootout, which ended in favored of Al Sadd, 4-3.
