The positive 2-2 draw was the final result of the match between Al Duhail and their guests, Al Ahli, at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Al Duhail Club, in a match for the second round of the league phase of the AFC Champions League Elite.

The first minute of stoppage time nearly saw the go-ahead goal, but for the brilliance of Al Ahli goalkeeper in saving a powerful shot from Edmilson.
