Al Duhail First Football Team Head Coach Djamel Belmadi emphasized the critical importance of defeating Al Arabi in the Amir Cup quarterfinal round. He noted that advancing through the tournament and clinching the title is essential to securing qualification for next season AFC Champions League Elite.
Opening the pre -match press conference held this morning, Belmadi stated:
“The match versus Al Arabi will not be easy; we are facing a strong side led by a distinguished technical staff. This tournament is of great significance to us, and we must perform at our best to overcome our first challenge in the Amir Cup.”
He continued:
“Going two seasons without a trophy is difficult and unacceptable for a club like Al Duhail. We have lost the league title and were eliminated from the AFC Champions League by Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahly. This is the only competition remaining for us. Our objective is clear: to claim the title, despite acknowledging the difficulty of the task given the level of competition and the shared ambition of all participating teams.”
Belmadi concluded his remarks by saying:
“The Amir Cup holds a special place for us, and we always strive to win it, as we have grown accustomed to being crowned champions. Winning this tournament grants us the opportunity to return to the AFC Champions League next season—a goal for which we have prepared thoroughly. Our primary focus now is securing a victory over Al Arabi to progress to the next round.”
