Belmadi: Al Wakra is a Well-Organized Team, and There are No Easy Matches…

Al Duhail First Football Team Head Coach Djamel Belmadi stressed the importance of securing a victory in the upcoming match versus Al Wakra in Round 8 of the Doha Bank Stars League, emphasizing that all matches played by the team are challenging and that there are no easy fixtures this season.

Belmadi began his remarks by saying: “Our next match will be against Al Wakra, a team that is going through a very positive period after achieving three consecutive victories, in addition to scoring nine goals, I believe, during those matches. This reflects the strength of our opponent and increases the difficulty of the encounter. It will certainly be a tough match, but we have the desire and determination to win and claim all three points.”

Belmadi added: “All matches are difficult, and there are no easy games. We secured a win in the previous round over Lusail, a well-organized and fiercely competitive team that has been getting good results. They performed strongly against big teams such as Al Rayyan and earned a huge 4–0 victory over Al Wakra.Naturally, facing them was a tough challenge, especially given their current form and status. However, it ultimately comes down to us—how we manage games and make them less difficult. When opportunities come our way, we must be decisive in front of goal, work on creating as many goal scoring opportunities as possible, and maintain the necessary attacking efficiency to make the most of them.”

Belmadi concluded his remarks by saying: “I am happy with the players’ performance and their attitude on the field of play. We were looking forward to collecting more points in the past matches, especially since we had the opportunity to win at least two of them. But overall, the team is constantly evolving and heading in the right direction. As for the absences, I prefer to focus on the players currently available; they are very important elements, and we have absolute confidence in their ability to provide the required addition to the team.”
