The pre-match press conference for Al Duhail opening match in the GFF Gulf Club Champions League was held this evening at the club headquarters. The fixture will see Al Duhail face their brothers, Oman Club Al Shabab, tomorrow, Wednesday, at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium.

Al Duhail First Football Team Head Coach Djamel Belmadi began his remarks by saying: “This is our first match in the tournament, and we are treating it with the utmost seriousness. Naturally, it is unfortunate that we are not participating in the AFC Champions League this season, but that does not mean we will take the Gulf tournament lightly. Instead, we will enter this competition with complete seriousness and focus.”

Belmadi added: “We need to play more matches, and we have a squad that allows us the opportunity to give extra playing time to players who have not had enough chances to participate in domestic competitions, while ensuring we maintain the required balance, readiness, and competitiveness.”

Belmadi concluded his remarks by saying: “Things certainly get tougher during international breaks, especially with a large number of our players joining their national teams. However, we played a strong match versus Al Shamal in the league, we are fully prepared and ready for tomorrow’s game, and we look forward to getting off to a positive start in the tournament.”
