Al Duhail First Football team Head Coach Djamel Belmadi, expressed his delight with the team 3-2 victory over Iran’s Sepahan. This win secured their qualification for the group stage of the AFC Champions League Elite.
In the post match press conference, Belmadi stated:
“I am happy to have achieved our goal and reached the AFC Champions League group stage after putting in a good performance against the Iranian team, Sepahan.”
He added:
“Our aim this season is to compete for all titles and championships. Today, we took an important step by winning and qualifying for the group stage.”
When asked about the performance of strikers Bulabina and Piatek and his expectations of them, Belmadi responded:
“We always operate as a collective, where every player complements the other. We don’t focus on individual names as much as we care about the team’s performance as a whole. Of course, I expect strong performances and more from them in the coming days.”
Belmadi concluded:
“It’s true that the two competitions are different, but we will focus heavily on the league, especially since I haven’t won the league title in two seasons. We are ready for that and will work to achieve the club ambitions, especially since the team is accustomed to playing for top positions and winning championships.”
The match was held at Khalifa International Stadium and saw a strong contest between the two teams, where Al Duhail successfully secured their qualification spot in the playoff round for the group stage.
