Crespo: Al Wakra is Tough & The Lead is our Target…

Al Duhail Head Coach Hernan Crespo emphasized that Al Duhail is awaiting a very tough confrontation versus Al Wakra in Round 12 of the QNB Stars League. Crespo said in the pre-match press conference held at 3 pm in the Club’s press conference hall: Normal preparations for the match versus Al Wakra. We are aware that Al Wakra is dangerous team managed to score several victories and one of the top four teams in the League table. In return I have full confidence of my players’ potentials to perform well on the field of play.

Crespo continued: Since the start of the season, we have not entered any match with full squad, so we always suffer from injuries and absences, and now our defender Ruben Semedo is missing due to injury, and I am happy that there are players who can compensate for the absences. The team participated in the Ooredoo Cup and the Referees Cup with many absences, however we succeeded in reaching the semifinal round of the Ooredoo Cup, and we lost the final match of the Referees Cup by penalties after we presented good levels and achieved positive results.

Crespo added: It is difficult to snatch points from Al Wakra team because it is a strong team, but I trust the players’ motivation to enter this confrontation, and the match will not be easy because Al Wakra is looking for the top spot in the standings and we want to maintain our lead.

Crespo Concluded: QNB Stars League is difficult and it will be more difficult during the coming stages. Al Duhail’s goal was to reach the top spot, which we succeeded in achieving, and now we must make a greater effort to maintain it.
