Al Duhail First Football Team Assistant Head Coach Fares Bouzid emphasized the importance of tomorrow’s (Thursday) clash versus Al Waab in the Round of 16 of the 2026 Amir Cup. He stated that this prestigious tournament means a great deal to Al Duhail and that everyone must give their all to secure the title.

Opening his remarks during the pre-match press conference held at the Qatar Football Association headquarters, Bouzid said: “We have prepared well for a match we expect to be a tough challenge. We have studied Al Waab extensively and now identify their strengths and weaknesses. We will exert every effort to decide the game and qualify for the next round.”

Regarding the match timing, Bouzid admitted it is not ideal given the fixture congestion the team faces between domestic and continental competitions. However, he noted that the team must accept the situation and give their maximum effort on the pitch.

It is worth noting that the head coach, Djamel Belmadi, was absent from the press conference due to an emergency health issue, with assistant coach Fares Bouzid stepping in to represent him.
